   Supported configurations for Windows:

   • A monitor that supports at least 1024 x 768 pixel resolution in high color mode (16-bit) is required.
   • We recommend using a stable* version of one of the browsers listed below:
     • Google Chrome 33 or later
     • Firefox 28 or later
     • Internet Explorer 11
   • All popup window blocker software must be turned off.

   *Only stable versions of these browsers are supported. Release candidates (RC), beta, and alpha versions are not supported.

   If the test display is too large or too small, you will need to change your monitor's resolution settings.

   Windows:

   • Click the Windows Menu button in the lower left-hand corner of your screen.
   • Select My Computer.
   • Select Control Panel.
   • Select the Settings tab in the Display window.
   • Adjust the Screen Area slider bar to the desired setting. We recommend a setting of at least 1024 x 768

   Mac:

   • Click the Apple Menu icon in the upper left-hand corner of the screen to reveal the menu.
   • Select System Preferences.
   • Select Displays.
   • Choose a resolution setting that provides the best display. We recommend a setting of at least 1024 x 768

Accessing DxExam

1. Back to Top ↑ Access an exam if I have already registered?

   You do not have to enter a new exam access code each time you enter DxExam. Simply go to the appropriate URL and enter your login ID and password on the left-hand side of the Web page. When you arrive at the Home page, you may continue an exam you did not complete by clicking the Start or Resume for one of the exams listed; or review an exam by clicking Review for one of the exams you have finished.

Using DxExam

1. Back to Top ↑ Navigate the exam?
   • Exams presented in DxExam may display a number of display and navigational features if the Test Administrator so chooses.
   • The Item Number and the Time Remaining in the test may be displayed at the top of your screen.
   • To answer a multiple-choice question, click a desired answer choice. You also can press the letter key on your keyboard corresponding to your answer choice; A, B, C, D, E, etc.
   • Click the Hide button (if available) next to any answer choice to remove that answer choice from the screen. The Hide button will change to a Show button which, when clicked, returns the hidden answer choice.
   • The Rationale field may appear after completing a question if the function has been activated by the Test Administrator. The Rationale field may include an explanation of why the correct answer is correct and why the others are not correct, bibliographic source material for the question and Strategy, advice on answering this type of question.
   • To answer a short-answer question, click the text field and type in your answer.
   • To select a choice in a Likert scale, click the radio button under one of the selections.
   • To mark a question for later review, click Flag at the top of your screen.
   • Click Next to go to the next question in the exam.
   • Click Previous to return to the previous question.
   • Click Score Exam if you want to exit the test. (CAUTION: Do not simply close your browser window to quit the test. Data loss could result if you do not click Score Exam..)
   • Click Exit to have the option to save the exam at the present point and return later. (CAUTION: Do not simply close your browser window to quit the test. Data loss could result if you do not click Score Exam.)
   • The green dot in the upper right of the screen indicates your internet connection is working.

3. Back to Top ↑ Review questions before scoring?
   • When you click Item Review on the Exam screen's Go to... menu, the Item Review screen appears and displays the status of each question in the exam.
   • Place the cursor over any question in the list to preview that question in the text field located at the top of the browser window.
     • Completed questions may be designated with a green 'R' (right answer) or a red 'W' (wrong answer) symbol.
     • The blue question mark (?) displays next to each question number that has NOT been answered.
     • The asterisk (*) displays next to the number of each question flagged for later review.
     • Click on any question number to go to that question in the main test window.
   • You can review All questions, Incomplete, Flagged, and Wrong or Right questions. Click the Go To... menu and click to select a question set to display and review in the exam interface.
   • If the exam under review had more questions than can fit on a single review screen, click Next or Previous to see additional review screens.

Closing exams and submitting results for scoring

1. Back to Top ↑ Close the exam and submit results for scoring?
   • Click Score Exam.
     (CAUTION: Do not simply close your browser window to quit the test. Data loss could result if you do not click Score Exam.)
   • In the dialog box that appears, click Score Exam to end your test session and submit your answers for scoring. Click Cancel to return to the test.
   • When you quit the test and submit your answers for scoring, the Test Results screen may appear if the Test Administrator chooses to allow you to see it. Review your results, then click Exit when you are ready to exit the program.
2. Back to Top ↑ See my results?

   After you click Score Exam and submit your answers for scoring, the Test Results screen may appear if the Test Administrator chooses to allow you to see it. The screen displays how you scored on each of the exam's categories and on the total test. Graphic and numerical displays are provided.

   Your score is expressed as a percentage based on the number of questions you answered correctly. Your total percentage score is the number of questions you answered correctly divided by the total number of test questions, multiplied by 100. Next to your percentage score, in parentheses, you will find the number of questions you answered correctly and the number of scored questions for that portion of the test.

   If the exam under review had more question topics than can fit on a single review screen, click Next or Previous to see additional review screens.

   NOTE: You may also be allowed to access the results of sessions you have completed or resume sessions you have not completed. On the Home screen, exams you have not completed are listed under the Incomplete/Pending column. Click Start or Resume for the exam you want to re-open. Exams you have completed are listed in the Complete column. You may review exams you have completed by clicking Review for the exam you want to review.

   Exam results may be available only as the Test Administrator allows.

3. Back to Top ↑ Quit the exam?

   DO NOT quit the program by closing your browser window. This may result in data loss.

   • The Score Exam and Exit buttons are located in the upper right-hand corner of the exam screen.
   • Click Exit when you want to exit the program without scoring your exam. A dialog box will ask you to confirm that you want to exit the exam.
   • Click Score Exam when you want to exit the program and score your exam. A dialog box will ask you to confirm that you want to quit the test and submit your answers for scoring.

   (CAUTION: Do not simply close your browser window to quit the test. Data loss could result if you do not click Score Exam.)
